RETURNING YOUR RADON DETECTOR TO THE RADONOVA LAB WITH CANADA POST
Beginning August 29, 2025, the US requires a Customs Declaration ID and Duties to be prepared online, and if applicable, duties prepaid when shipping packages to the United States 🇺🇸
Radonova’s radon detectors are manufactured in the US and are returned to the manufacturer in the US for analysis; the radon detectors are not subject to additional duty or tax.
TARIFFS DO NOT APPLY when returning the radon detectors to the US Lab for analysis.
What do I need to do?
There is a new 2-step process that must be completed before you go to the post office.
Step 1:
Generate the required Customs Form (Your Declaration ID):
You have 3 Options to retrieve the Customs Form...
· Option 1, Online: canadapost.ca/customs
· Option 2, Text: 55555 (to get your customs form)
· Option 3, Mobile App (Canada Post mobile app, click customs form under More menu)
(Options 1 and 2 are the most user-friendly)
Once you choose your option, complete the Customs Form:
· Enter the sender info: (customer information)
· Enter the recipient info: (Radonova address below)

Next, complete the Package Declaration:
Choose: Return
Package Contents:
· Description: Radon Detector, return for analysis
· Quantity: #
· Total Value CAD: $20.00
Click Review Customs Form
Click Submit to retrieve the barcode to present to Canada Post when you pay for shipping
Step 2:
Download the ZONOS APP (app.zonosprepay.com)
Create an account using your email address and password (this is a free application)
Once you log in to the Zonos APP...
Click Ship
Click Standard Package and click Canada Post, Continue
Click Add items manually
· Item Description: Radon Detector, return for analysis
· Country of Origin: USA
· Total Value: $20.00 CAD
· Quantity: #
Click Calculate Duties
**Important! Duty owed should be $0.00
Click Complete to retrieve the second barcode required to present to Canada Post to ship your package.
Finally, take your package and the 2 barcodes to Canada Post to pay for shipping and ship your radon detector. Canada Post will ask for each barcode and print a label to attach to your package. Please use a trackable shipping service.
